Milestone & Collis was established in 1890 by Mr Milestone and Mr Collis, originally trading from 43 High Street, Teddington.
The practice was subsequently acquired by Mr J. Harriot, with Mr Alex Melvin later joining the partnership and becoming Sole Principal.
In December 1966, the practice was acquired by Mr B. Dinnage and Mr D. Dunlop, with Mr Dinnage becoming Sole Principal in 1969.
A significant chapter in the firm's history began in January 1975, when Mr Dinnage acquired the long-established practice of Goaly & Goatly, established around 1870 and trading from 38 Church Street, Twickenham.
From 1975, Milestone & Collis traded from both 43 High Street, Teddington and 38 Church Street, Twickenham.
The business subsequently expanded considerably and, at its largest, operated from nine offices across Twickenham, Teddington, Hampton, Hampton Wick, Isleworth, East Sheen, Whitton and the surrounding area.
Mr R. Gerrard joined Milestone & Collis as Sales Manager in January 1975 and became a Partner in 1985, with Mr Dinnage becoming Sole Principal in 1997.
On 1 April 2003, Antony Robson FRICS acquired the practice, which became a firm of Chartered Surveyors. Mr Dinnage continued his long association with Milestone & Collis as Professional Consultant until 30 April 2021.
In August 2017, Mr Robson acquired the Milestone Twickenham Residential Sales Office, with the residential sales operation trading from 86 Heath Road, Twickenham.
Throughout its long history, Milestone & Collis has enjoyed a remarkable degree of continuity, with the business remaining under long-term principal ownership rather than continually changing hands.
